Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabuntu (Zulu – Ubuntu)
“ A Person is a Person through other People ”
You may ask: “Who am I?“
According to my understating of Ubuntu , my life is a kaleidoscope of diverse shapes and colours. I am a single person on a journey with many twists and turns; discovering friends and strangers alike interconnecting with others. “ A person is a person through other people.”
So who am I? I am a South African born in Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape (now Queberha ) where I grew up and attended school. I studied and worked as a Draughtsman. I am married to Glynis (Over 50 years) with a beautiful family. Surrounded by the music of the 1960’s it was an exciting time of opportunity. Young and newly married with the spirit of adventure we packed our bags and headed for Johannesburg. We lived in a commune with other young people discovering the worth of community.
At an intersection, my life took a different turn, called by God into the Ministry of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa serving for 40 years in numerous churches and communities in South Africa. During this period I Studied at Rhodes University in the Eastern Cape earning a degree in Theology. I love travelling with Glynis- going on road trips and adventures in Africa.
"I am committed to justice and peace for ALL people, religions, cultures and the well being of nature and the earth."
I am committed to justice and peace for ALL people, religions, cultures and the well being of nature and the earth. I am an Artist specialising in oils; I am a Potter and Sculptor of clay; I am a Photographer. I am a creative and I enjoy telling stories. There are places in my life that are special where I can be quiet and still. Moments to slow down to meditate , imagine and the opportunity to practice the discipline of art. So my art room , the potters room, the garden and hothouse, the bushveld are all sanctuaries of remaining centred in this beautiful yet crazy world.
